It’s Nearly Mother’s Day – Win Free Stuff!

Wedding Photographer Brighton Bride & Mum PhotoMadly

You may have noticed that things have been quiet on the PhotoMadly front lately.  There’s been a reason for that, and he’s a little gentle giant called Sebastian Cooper.  With a birthday of 8th August, Sebastian was born in the peak of high wedding season last summer and I’ve been on maternity leave to look after the bouncy little sumo wrestler that he is (with a few breaks for previously scheduled weddings, of course – one of which was only 2 weeks after Sebastian’s birth, but more on that in another post). However, he’s seven months old now, and I am ready to be back at work for the 2015 summer wedding season. The other reason is that I’m pretty much the slowest blogger alive (not the most useful trait in today’s culture of immediacy, but hey), mostly because I love my clients’ wedding images so much I agonise for ages over which ones are the best to show you. But I digress…

As you know, Mother’s Day here in the UK is just under a week away and I want to celebrate – being a new mum for the second time around, along with being the mum of a funny, charming and nurturing pre-schooler; being a daughter to an amazing mum who balanced an incredible career in nursing with raising seven of us; being a granddaughter to a gentle, loving Oma who I miss all the time; to being a daughter-in-law to my glamorous and brilliant husband’s mum; being an auntie and a niece; being a sister, sister-in-law, sorority sister and friend, mentor and mentee to wonderful women in all the places I’ve lived.  In the spirit of celebrating mothers – and by extension all of our relationships with women – this week I’ve partnered with The Feather Pen to offer some prizes from both them and from me.

So, what are we giving away?

There’s one prize for every day between now and Mother’s Day, which makes for six prizes – four from The Feather Pen and two from me at PhotoMadly.

The Feather Pen Handwritten Engraved Jewellery

The Feather Pen engrave pendants and bracelets with inscriptions in your own handwriting.  Simply provide them with a sample of your handwriting and the message you want your jewellery to bear, and they will recreate it exactly on a pendant for you.  I love these, and don’t think it’s possible to have enough of them in my life. Perfect as a gift for your mum, daughter, bridesmaids, sweetheart, best friend –  anyone really.  We’ve got four of these necklaces – in your choice of yellow gold or rose gold – up for grabs.

As for me, I’m offering two lifestyle photo sessions.  Each of the two winners will be able to bring along up to three loved ones. For these sessions, I’ll come to your home or somewhere you all enjoy going together – whether that’s a park, funfair, festival, the beach, the downs etc – so long as it’s within 25 miles of Brighton (or in central London). You’ll get to keep ten high-res image files of your choice from the session, and each person who was photographed will get an 8×12″ print of their choice. The grand prize winner will have their print delivered framed and mounted, all finished and ready to hang.

How do you enter the contest?

Leave a comment below telling me all about your mum/granny/BFF/daughter/child/partner/wife etc – whomever it is you would like to celebrate this Mother’s Day and with whom you’d like to share your photo session if you win.

OR leave a comment telling me about the words you’d like memorialised on a lovely necklace – who wrote them and/or who would you like to give it to if you win one?

After that, click on the Rafflecopter widget below to confirm you’ve commented to unlock additional options for entry, and enter as many more times as you like by completing the various liking and sharing options you see in the widget.

I can’t wait to read your blog comments. Thanks for entering and good luck! xx

  1. I’d love to get It’s A Wonderful Life written on a necklace for me and my Mum to share as it is our favourite film.

  2. I would give my mum a piece with a quote my grandad always said to her and she has always said to me …. “life is only what you make it, so make it a good one”

  3. i would have a family photo shoot of me my hubby and our 4 littlies who are 9 5 and 4 yr old twin girls. We do not have any proffessional photos of all of us together so would be a fab mothers day prezzie xx

  4. I would like to spend Mother’s Day with my lovely daughter. She’s just been offered a place at University after trying for 3 years so will soon be flying the nest, maybe even to Scotland, for 4 years! I will miss her. If I were to give her an engraved necklace, I would like it to say “Always believe in yourself” because I will no longer be with her to remind her every day.

  5. My Mum is amazing and if I can be half a good as Mum to my three kids then I will feel like I have achieved something 🙂

  6. “like, love, laugh” my mum always told me “you have to like, love, and laugh at yourself before you can do it to anyone else” this help me so much when growing up as from a young age, it enabled me to put myself in other people’s shoes and think about how I would feel if I was them. Her quote taught me how to laugh at myself and relax, not take anything too seriously. It also taught me to learn to love myself and be happy with who I am. 🙂

  7. i would love to share my mothers day with my twin sister but she lives to far away buy i know my kids and hubby will spoil me rotten.

  8. I would love the words Truly Madly Deeply on one of the beautiful necklaces, as these words are a direct quote from one of my mum’s favourite songs that always remind her of my dad x

  9. I will celebrate my mothers day with my husband and 2 boys as my mummy lives in Czech republic and can’t be here with me. We will have lovely breakfast it our huge bed and then go for lunch to our favourite restaurant and nice stroll around our small town afterwards just what we love doing- being together as a family.

  10. If I were lucky enough to win one of the beautiful necklaces, I would have the letters A and C for my sons’ names plus a star for each one. Thanks for this lovely giveaway
